You know that old saying, "Curiosity killed the cat"? I’m usually one to respect traditional wisdom, but in this case, I’d have to go with a "somehow disagree".
I realize this might be an unusual way to start a blog, but trust me: it’ll all make sense soon.
To begin with, this introduction lets me explain that if it weren’t for a certain curiosity that led me to explore "the internet" years ago, I wouldn’t be doing what I do today, I wouldn’t have websites, I wouldn’t be writing this... and so many other parts of my life would be different.
My academic path took me in a different direction, while my interest in the digital world stayed with me, growing and evolving over the years. And, as life would have it, those skills I picked up on the side of my formal studies eventually became my livelihood more than a decade ago.
If you’ve found yourself here, you’ve likely explored the site and read about our services. But if you’re new to the world of websites and digital marketing—and you’re an entrepreneur, have a local business, work freelance, or are considering an online store—then much (if not all) of what we talk about here might sound like smoke and mirrors.
Or perhaps each of these concepts sparks your curiosity? Wouldn’t you like to know how these different elements could help bring you closer to your business goals? In reality, if you have a business (or are planning one), it’s essential to understand, at least broadly, what these ideas are all about. And if you’ve already tried reading up on these topics, you may have found yourself overwhelmed by the sheer volume of concepts, definitions, nuances, and variations.
That’s exactly why this blog exists.
The purpose of this series of posts is to satisfy your curiosity without overloading you. My goal here is to explain, in the simplest way possible, the fundamentals: what a website is, what you need to create one, what it entails, the possibilities it offers, best practices, and everything we cover in our services.
The aim, to be clear, is to go over the essentials—because, honestly, there’s no shortage of hyper-specialized information out there.
So if, like me, curiosity has brought you here, let’s get started!
